It's a bit irritating, but it's well done. The books are kind of symetric - opening 1 vs. closing 7; snakes and lions aren't quite opposites in 2 and 6; things get more complicated, with more characters in 3 and 5, and of course Voldemort appears for good in 4. All the symbols fall neatly in place, etc. We just keep forgetting it's a children's book - of course a grown-up series would be deeper, but would we have enjoyed the extra depth the way we enjoyed this?
