Shipping wars do bear more than a passing resemblance to witch-hunting.

but the shipping forecast is slightly more civilised

Only for the civilian navy - as soon as there are canons involved it gets pretty nasty

I like reading Lucius/Hermione stories. But I don't care for the torture or abuse fics.

Rhaaaa, your icon...

*ahem*

I don't like those too much either, but then there's a lot of them in HG/SS too.

That's true. I avoid all of those. I mean I know every fic can't be all fluff and stuff, but I don't want to be depressed by a story, I've got real life for that.

Preaching to the choir here. Stories where Hermione gets raped etc. also raise issues with me - is that what the authors subconsciously think women are good for? I rather prefer stories where the characters develop, they start from canon or something approaching and the author takes you to a point that you like (romance, adventure, humour, whatever) - even if the journeys are vastly different according to pairing, author, etc.

Yes, I agree. What's worse is when she's raped and winds up falling in love! Or those stories where she can only get off by being dominated or with rough sex.

Please, give me a break.

May I confess my undying love for you this idea? If you need any minion-ly help, I'd be glad to donate my time.

You might want to wait a bit before the undying love, for now I'm just testing waters. An inactive comm isn't much fun...

I may have been too enthusiastic in the poll. I'd love an LJ community, so I'll read and review. As for writing, I don't know. If I write something worth posting, then yes. And I don't draw.

Thank you for taking the time to answer :)

There's no definite commitment from anyone yet, I'm mostly testing waters and gaudging public interest.

I'd rec, pimp, and review. But I didn't tic the box because I probably wouldn't write. And I can't draw. Really. But I'd probably do something if the moderator told me to. ~g~

I would filter only because I filter all communities out of my friends page. Hmmm. Maybe I should stop doing that...

Need Lumione icon...it is a pretty name. Luscious, luminous Lumione.

It takes a little time to grow accustomed to, but the pairing grows on you, doesn't it?
